History The Pine City Sportsmen's Club was established in 1947. At that time membership was $1 a year. At a dollar per year for membership, the club did not grow very fast. In 1951, Wally Hunt started the first archery league at Pine City Sportsmen's Club. His daughters would help him set up the courses. This was a shot in the arm for the club. Labor day weekend the club would hold a big archery shoot. Families would come from all over to camp and shoot the match. The club emblem was designed by Wally Hunt. Wally has held every position in the club except Treasurer. Wally has handled membership for the club for at least 20 years now. In 1961, 10 years after archery started, an addition was added to the club that doubled the size of the building. In 2001, Ed Robbins started trap shooting at the club. In 2006, Toni Dragotta started International Defensive Pistol shooting at the club. |
