Summer Archery League

The summer league starts in May and runs 12 weeks with an awards banquet at the end. This is a handicapped, 2 person team competition. The format rotates each week between Field, Hunter, and American rounds. The field and hunter rounds consist of 14 targets set in the woods at various marked distances and varying terrain. Four arrows are shot at each target. Groups of 2-4 archers shoot together. Field rounds are at 'even' distances up to 80 yards (some of the shortest are measured in feet instead), using targets with a black bullseye (5 points), a white center (4) ring, and black outer (3) ring. Hunter rounds use 'uneven' distances up to 70 yards, and although scoring is identical to a field round, the target has an all-black face with a white bullseye. Children and youth positions for these two rounds are closer, no more than 30 and 50 yards, respectively. The American Round is shot with everyone together on one line. Up to 4 archers shoot at each target face. 4 ends of 5 arrows each are shot at 60, 50,

and 40 yards. This league also has a morning shoot and an evening shoot.

This is a great way to learn to shoot, learn to shoot better, or just have a good time.
